My journey to The Daring Way™
Me, Daring Greatly...
I can’t tell you how excited and (honestly) a bit terrified I am to share this with you and I’ll tell you why.
You’ve heard of Brené Brown, right?
Her work is having a profound impact on so many people’s lives, including mine.
Now more than ever, we need to be innovative, creative and courageous. Parents, teachers, leaders (you name it), are being called upon to think outside the box and do things differently. The thing is, this is impossible from a place of feeling ‘not good enough’.
Brené Brown is leading the way, with an innovative new program aimed at helping would be leaders, innovators and creatives get over the ‘not good enough’ and dive into the work they are put here to do.
And I’ve been invited to train to be one of the facilitators of this new program.
The Daring Way™ certification is training based on Brené Brown’s research and has been developed to support individuals, groups and organizations to transform the way they work, love parent and lead by leaning into vulnerability, practicing courage and building resilience. My goal in taking this training is to provide people within my community and beyond (via travel and online training) the tools to take risks and live bravely so that they can create work and home environments that are progressive, supportive and successful.
At the same time, I’m a bit terrified because it means I need to ask for help, put myself out there, be seen and heard. I need to be vulnerable myself, first. These, my friends, are common ‘not good enough’ triggers and I for one am not immune to them.
The idea of putting it out there to my friends, family and followers that I could use some support, can be seen by many as a sign of weakness. Simply speaking out, sharing my beliefs and my vision is an act of both incredible vulnerability and courage. So, I knew what I had to do. In order to feel integrity moving forward I am sharing my journey with you.
I believe that this is the way of the future. It is time to knock down the messages of ‘not good enough’ and believe that we are worthy of love and belonging. It’s time to discover how to live bravely, take risks, feel afraid, do it anyway and feel our way through failure and success so that we can build resilience and perseverance.
With grace and gratitude,
I intend to use this campaign to:
subsidize my expenses, which are listed below.
be in service to my community helping to create families, teams and organizations that are bravely innovative, honest and creative.
raise money for scholarships for program participants who experience a financial barrier to the course.
My expenses include:
I hope to raise these funds by August 14th, 2018.
What's in it for you?
You can help by simply making a donation of any amount. Any and all donations are welcome. Depending on the donation amount, you will be asked if you would like to take advantage of any of the following opportunities. If you would like to simply support me on this journey, I am deeply grateful. In order to pay it forward, if donations exceed my goal, funds will go toward scholarships to subsidize course enrollment costs for others.
Donors of $100 or more will be given the option of a complimentary coaching session(s).
*Donors of $500 will be given the opportunity to enroll in one of the Daring Way programs once they are scheduled (this will save you a minimum of $100 on registration costs).
*Donors of $1500 will be given the opportunity to enroll in “A year of Daring Greatly”. A two day intensive followed by a monthly check-in and online support to help you integrate vulnerability and authenticity into your everyday life.
*Gather together a group of 6 and donate $2500. This will be a closed course of your choice for you and five friends or colleagues. This is great for a group that wants to go on this journey together or a small business that wants to dare greatly with their staff!
*Courses will take place in 2019.
I offer online work as well as in person so you can participate in this opportunity no matter where you are. Please share with anyone who might benefit from this work.
I look forward to being of service.
With grace and gratitude,
